ASUS ROG Phone 6 images, specs appear online: Here's what we know about it
- The apparent ASUS ROG Phone 6 has appeared on China’s telecommunications authority website.
- Images show a white device, while the dimensions are similar to last year’s phone.
The ASUS ROG Phone line arguably leads the charge for premium gaming phones, packing a ton of horsepower, shoulder keys on the edges of the device, and an array of accessories. We already know that the ROG Phone 6 is around the corner, and we’ve now got plenty of information and a few images ahead of the release.
China’s TENAA regulatory body listed what appears to be the ROG Phone 6 on its website (h/t: Playful Droid). The regulatory filing dishes out specs and has also been updated with a few images, showing a Tencent-branded variant. Check out a composite of these images below.
Those expecting a major departure from previous models in terms of design might be disappointed, although the white colorway here looks pretty neat. It also seems like there’s an RGB strip or secondary display on the back too. Otherwise, the phone weighs in at 239 grams and measures 172.83 x 77.25 x 10.39 mm, giving us a similar but slightly thicker design as the ROG Phone 5.
As for the ASUS ROG Phone 6 specs, the TENAA listing points to a 6.78-inch OLED screen, a 3.2GHz octa-core chipset (the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1), 18GB of RAM, 512GB of fixed storage, a 50MP main rear camera, and 13MP secondary rear camera. We can make out a third rear lens but there’s no word on what ASUS is using here. It’s also worth noting that specs like RAM and storage might vary, especially as the ROG Phone 5 was available with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
What do you think of the ROG Phone 6 design?
The filing mentions a 2,925mAh battery, although we’re guessing that ASUS is using dual batteries for a total minimum capacity of 5,850mAh (marketed as 6,000mAh). Other notable specs include a 3.5mm port and an in-display fingerprint sensor. There’s also mention of 5x optical zoom, but TENAA has made mistakes in its spec listings before.
We won’t have to wait too long to officially see the ROG Phone 6, as ASUS has announced a July 5 launch event. The company has also confirmed a few details already, such as the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC and a 165Hz refresh rate.
