April security patch rolls out for the AT&T Galaxy S7 and S7 edge

AT&T is rolling out the April Android security patch and a selection of other smaller fixes to its Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones.

A new update is rolling out for the AT&T branded Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge today. It’s not a major update, but it does contain the latest April Android security patch and a small selection of other fixes.

The update weighs in at some 170MB, approximately. The April security patch addresses eight critical security issues and a number of other high severity problems. Although none of these exploits had been spotted in active use, yet. Handset owners are also reporting that the update includes touch screen improvements and a selection of other stability fixes. A similar update has also been spotted heading out for global models of the handset this month.

If you haven’t received the update notification yet, you can always force a manual check on your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge in the usual way. Just head on over to Settings > About device and hit that update button to see if it’s ready for your handset.
