iPhone SE 4 renders leak: iPhone XR reborn?
- Renders of the iPhone SE 4 have leaked, showing a notched display without a fingerprint sensor.
- The phone is expected to release in 2024 with a bigger 6.1-inch display.
- You can see the leaked renders of the phone below.
The grapevine has been speculating about the new iPhone SE for some time now. While Apple launched a new SE just this year, information about the next one has been circulating even before this compact iPhone showed up. YouTuber Jon Prosser of FrontPageTech has now teamed up with concept graphic designer Ian Zelbo to create renders of the iPhone SE 4.
Prosser claims the images are based on information available from a source. He couldn’t get the device’s technical specs but confirmed that the fourth-gen iPhone SE would be equipped with a 6.1-inch display.
The renders show the phone has a single camera at the back, accompanied by a flash below it. Up front is another single camera and a wide notch. Whether that space will house a TrueDepth camera system for Face ID is not known.
You’ll also notice that the renders don’t depict a physical fingerprint sensor for Touch ID, something all iPhone SE models have featured till now. Rumor has it that the iPhone SE 4 could include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, like the iPad Air and iPad Mini.
As Prosser notes, the rendered iPhone SE bears a striking resemblance to the iPhone XR. This is no surprise as Apple tends to borrow designs of its older phones for its SE models. The first-generation iPhone SE was also modeled after the iPhone 5S, while the second and third SE devices take after the iPhone 8.
The leak also reveals that the phone would come in three colorways — Midnight, Product Red, and Starlight.
Prosser’s leak comes after display analyst Ross Young recently reported that the next iPhone SE will be released in 2024. Young also said it would have a 6.1-inch display, mirroring Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s previous forecast.
