Sony WH-1000XM5 fall back to half-price on Amazon

Sony’s WH-1000XM5 headphones are back down to an all-time low on Amazon, with the Smoky Pink color now available for just $198. That cuts the price by $201 versus the $399.99 recommended retail price, which is a full 50% off RRP, and it makes this a deal worth grabbing while it’s still around.

Even though the WH-1000XM5 is no longer Sony’s newest flagship, it’s still a premium pair of over-ear wireless noise-canceling headphones and a strong value buy at this price. The big draw here is the very strong active noise canceling, along with clear call quality and a lightweight build that’s made for long listening sessions. You also get 30mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.2, multipoint pairing, touch controls, and support for LDAC, DSEE Extreme, Alexa, and Google Assistant.

Battery life is rated at up to 30 hours with noise canceling turned on, which is still plenty for travel, work, or daily use. There’s quick charging too, so a short top-up can give you hours of playback when you’re in a rush. Sony’s sound profile is often described as smooth and detailed, and there’s app-based EQ control if you like to tune things to your taste.

The main thing to know is that this price applies to the Smoky Pink version. At $198 on Amazon, the Sony WH-1000XM5 is sitting at a standout price for anyone who wants premium ANC headphones without paying flagship money.
