LG wants to create as much hype around its latest V30 phablet as it can before it releases it in the US. With that in mind, the company has teamed up with a YouTuber by the name of Parker Walbeck, who compared the V30’s camera capabilities to the high-end RED Weapon camera worth $50,000.

Walbeck strapped the smartphone on top of the RED Weapon, replicated a scene from the popular movie titled The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and then compared the footage captured by both cameras side by side.

Of course, he didn’t say that the V30’s camera is better than the RED Weapon but did mention that it is quite impressive thanks to its lens with an f/1.6 aperture and a number of other features it offers. These include things like Cine Log, which allows you to capture a wide dynamic range and color gamut, record video using log gamma curve, and save the details in a look up table so you can edit in tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro.

The V30’s camera does look like a real winner at this point, although we’ll reserve our judgment until we do a proper review. Combined with a bezel-less display, high-end specs, and a beautiful design, the device looks like it could really give the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 a run for its money.
