Gameloft’s “The Amazing Spiderman” now available from the Google Play Store
“The Amazing Spiderman”, starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, is releasing all over the world this weekend. I’m guessing you’ll be waiting a while to watch the movie if you haven’t pre-booked tickets yet, for what is one of this summer’s most highly-anticipated blockbusters (till the Dark Knight Rises comes out). If so, you can console yourself by stepping into the shoes (and costume?) of Spiderman, with the official release of “The Amazing Spiderman” mobile game from Gameloft.
Features of the latest release from Gameloft include:
- Fight in a fully 3D New York City which you can explore through five distinct districts (Central Park, Business, Downtown, Pier, and Residential)
- Play through 25 immersive missions based on the movie storyline
- Builds up to a master villian fight against the Lizard, the villian from the movie.
- Of course, it isn’t Spiderman if you aren’t jumping, climbing, and web-slinging from building to building
You can download “The Amazing Spiderman” from the Google Play Store here which will set you back $7. I recommend waiting for the first update before deciding to buy it, as some user comments so far suggest lagging, freezing, and force shutdown issues. Understandable, as this is a very graphic-intensive game, but hopefully Gameloft will come up with a fix soon.
Oh, I mentioned earlier about how you can step into Spiderman’s shoes, in the context of playing this game… Now, you can literally step into a Spiderman costume, to get a shot at winning a Sony Xperia S! All you have to do is post a picture of yourself, like Gameloft’s facebook page, and then go to the contest page to participate. You can find the full set of rules and regulations here.
What are your thoughts? Will you be downloading “The Amazing Spiderman” game? Will you be checking out the contest to get a shot at winning a Sony Xperia S? Have you watched the Spiderman movie? Let us know in the comments section below.
