Winter isn’t the most popular season for smartphone users. Wearing gloves — most of which aren’t compatible with touchscreens — poses a real problem when trying to make a call or snap a quick photo. Well, not anymore.

A team based in Canada has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a new product that offers a simple solution to a common problem. Meet Taps, the touchscreen stickers for your gloves.

Taps stickers will make your gloves touchscreen compatible, so you won’t have to take them off when you want to use your phone. Simply peel off a sticker or two, stick them to your gloves, and you’re good to go. Simple. In addition, every single sticker has a unique fingerprint, which means that if your device has a fingerprint scanner, you’ll be able to unlock it with the help of Taps. Genius.

According to their campaign page, the stickers are flexible, waterproof, and highly durable. And thanks to the strong adhesive used, they shouldn’t fall off the gloves easily. The team has surpassed its initial goal — CA$8,000 — and has already raised close to CA$40,000.

The campaign is scheduled to run for another 14 days, so if you’re interested in finding out more or backing the idea, click the button below. By pledging 15 Canadian dollars, which is around 11 US dollars, you’ll get a Taps kit with four stickers – 40% off retail price. The team will start shipping them out next month, before Christmas.

So, any thoughts on the new and interesting invention. Do you see yourself using something like this?
