Sprint will only carry 32GB, Midnight Blue Nexus 6

Sprint will apparently only carry the 32 GB Midnight Blue Nexus 6 in stores and online. Why the lack of choice?

Google Motorola Nexus 6 Hands on Android 5.0 Lollipop -17

Microsoft sprints with the spectrum, baked goods cower at the color, heck even Bobby Vinton was smitten with the shade. Yes, we’re talking about the one and only wonder wavelength, blue. Apparently Sprint must be a fan as well, as blue is the only shade Nexus 6 you’ll find the carrier selling, and 32GB at that — according to a story posted by Reddit user drmacinyasha.

As Sprint apparently never carried the 32GB Nexus 5, the missing 64GB Nexus 6 variant isn’t such a shocker, though why it only wants to sell a single color is a bit questionable. Choice is always a good thing, and for as many people that like one color, there is another who prefers the opposite. This is, after all, why there are two options in the first place.

Could it be that Google over produced the Blue version and is thus eager to offload them at a slightly lower cost? Did someone at Sprint decide that the white color didn’t look as good? The storage option absence is also problematic: as Google Play begins to offer more and more content, SSD capacity can fill up quite fast.

There is some irony in this whole story, given that the phablet in question is made by Motorola, a company that in no small way shook up the mobile world when it unveiled Moto Maker, a brilliant customization program available to Moto X purchasers. Still, at the end of the day it’s the customer who ultimately looses out.
