Happy birthday Sonic! Sonic CD, Sonic 4 Episode 1 and 2 get price cuts on Google Play

June 23, 2012

Did you know that Sonic has just turned 21? To celebrate the momentous occasion, Sega has decided to cut the price of all the digitally available Sonic games by up to 70% —  that includes game collections of the iconic game character on iDevices, PSN, Xbox Live Arcade and of course, Google Play.

The three discounted Sonic games on Google Play are:

Sonic CD

An enhanced version of the original Sonic CD, which came out back in 1993 for the Mega CD/Sega CD platform. This is your chance to fight off Metal Sonic, Dr. Eggman’s (that’s Dr. Robotnik for some of you) evil creation. Sonic CD is being offered for $2.99 – a full $2 discount from the original price.

Sonic 4: Episode 1

Sonic 4: Episode 1 is the sequel to the Sonic and Knuckles. It features all of Sonic’s trademark moves and new ones like the Homing Attack. You can race through some classic Sonic stages, as well as new ones. In total, there are 4 zones and 7 special stages. Sonic 4: Episode 1 is being offered for $0.99 now – quite a deal from the original $3.99 price.

Sonic 4: Episode 2

Metal Sonic has returned to spread some terror with Dr. Eggman. It’s Sonic’s job to stop the evil duo from wreaking havoc in the world. Everyone’s favorite side kick, Tails, will help Sonic to try and save the day. You can save $1 by downloading Sonic 4: Episode 2 only for $4.99 during the promotion.

Better get downloading soon, because the deal can end anytime.

So why is Sonic CD from the UK £3.84 or $5.75 (more expensive than the original $ price)?
