There’s yet another incentive for people who can access Samsung Pay to use the company’s digital payment service. Today, the company officially announced Samsung Rewards, which will offer users of Samsung Pay points per transaction that can later be exchanged for items like gift cards and more. The program is currently limited to the U.S.

Features

Samsung Pay currently works with the Galaxy Note 5Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones. Today’s announcement says that transactions made with the service by users will generate points that can be used to acquire gift cards from “some of (the) nation’s most popular retailers”. Samsung did not state just which stores are participating in the Rewards program. Alternatively, points can also be exchanged for pre-paid VISA gift cards, along with Samsung products and “more” (again, no details yet).

The normal amount of points you can earn per transaction is 10 points. The more you use Samsung Rewards, the more you will get, well, rewarded with extra points. Samsung says that if users make five transactions in one month, they will become “Silver” members and earn twice the normal amount of reward points for each transaction (20 points). If they make 20 monthly transactions, that turns you into a “Gold” member, and you will get triple the number of rewards points (30 points). Finally, if you decide to make 30 monthly Samsung Pay transactions, you are in the top “Platinum” tier and will get quadruple the number of points (40 points). However, the program’s terms and conditions page does say that there will be a limit of 50 Samsung Pay transactions a month that will be rewarded with points.

Aside from earning points, Samsung will also offer “Instant Win” prizes for select Rewards members, starting with a trip to Napa Valley, California. The program itself is scheduled to begin on November 17, and is supposed to end one year after that on Nov. 17, 2017, although Samsung does say it can extend the Rewards program beyond that date or end it early.
