Hands-on: Lenovo Mirage Solo is the first standalone Daydream headset
News

Back at CES 2018, Lenovo announced two Mirage-branded devices: the Mirage Solo, Lenovo’s very first standalone Daydream VR headset, and the Mirage Camera, a stereoscopic camera with a 180-degree field of view. Back in January, the company stated that the VR headset would cost under $400 and that the camera would be priced under $300. Well, according to B&H Photo’s pre-order pages, this is in fact true.

The Mirage Solo will set you back $399.99 according to the New York-based electronics equipment retailer. Lenovo’s upcoming Daydream VR headset is powered by Snapdragon 835 with “six degrees of freedom,” which means that you can duck, jump, and peek around corners to really immerse yourself in the content.

The Mirage Camera, on the other hand, is slightly cheaper, priced at $299.99. This odd-looking device features two cameras but no viewfinder or screen. No worries though – you can shoot 13-megapixel photos and videos in a 180-degree field of view by using Lenovo’s proprietary app on your smartphone.
