A lot has happened around the Google Play Store this week. Google Chrome got two updates, including one that adds gesture controls and one for beta that adds web-apps to your home screen. Also, Plants vs Zombies 2 gets released kind of, an app comes out to mimic the Moto X, and Hulu Plus gets Chromecast friendly.

Our next app is a nifty little launcher that is designed for simplicity and ease of use for senior citizens. If you know someone who could benefit from a simple launcher with large icons, then this is the app we’d recommend for them. Get it on Google PlayIt’s free, it can turn Android into something literally everyone can use, and it really is a helpful and awesome app.

Team Viewer is a marvel n.n
I know there can be others, but, to -remotely- browse my computers’ hard drive and transfer files to my smartphone is the one I go to.

I have Splashtop 2, too. I heard it’s faster than Team Viewer, but haven’t tried it yet o.O

Are you kidding? That app looks like a baby in diapers compared to Unified Remote.

      • Muddy_Water

It works but it has a long way to go before it will be better than X-Remote

I saw it a bit limited. Well, it must have its power hidden, and its UI is very nice.

Are you new to Android? Which smartphone do you have?

From my personal experience, apps through personal recommendation is so far a much better way than the ranking on google play.

Take the basic category of voice recorder apps on Android for example, the ranking on google play seems NEVER changed since its starting. The top 1 is always the “Smart Voice Recorder” with such an idiotic look-and-feel. The top 2 “Easy Voice Recorder” is a bit better but still lacking advanced functionalities. If you compare them with the “Easy and Smart Voice Recorder” under https://play.google.com/store/… with much more powerful pre-scheduling capability and much more beautiful design, you know the problem of google play ranking. Naturally the developer of this app has tried to use the combined name to improve the chance to be discovered.
