One of Netflix‘s has now come to an end with its latest, fourth season. The crime family drama Ozark has been a big hit for the streamer, and for good reason. But what should you watch once you’re all caught up and want more shows like Ozark?

When a white-collar criminal angers the wrong people, he moves his family to the Ozarks to start fresh, while not exactly leaving his criminal past behind. Left with a huge amount of debt to his former employer, accountant Marty Byrde begins money laundering in his new home to make good. As the seasons move along, the Byrdes all get more actively involved in the family business, making tons of money and some enemies along the way, all while acclimating to their new home.

If that sounds like your kind of show, check out the link below to watch it on Netflix. If you’re already a fan, read on for what to watch next.

Bloodline

Bloodline shows like Ozark
Netflix

Family can be murder, sometimes literally. Another Netflix original, Bloodline is a solid series about a Florida family in disarray when prodigal son Danny returns, bringing memories of family trauma with him. The Rayburns are a picture-perfect family on the outside, but beneath the surface lie secrets and betrayals, all eventually leading to murder. The first season of this show like Ozark sees the Rayburn kids (all grown up) killing their brother in the first episode. Jumping back to his arrival home, the season then unpacks how the family reached that desperate and tragic point.

The Outsider

The Outsider
HBO

If you enjoy seeing a darker side of Jason Bateman in Ozark, you may want to check out The Outsider. The HBO miniseries, based on the novel by Stephen King, sees the Arrested Development funnyman in one of his most twisted roles. When a child is found brutally murdered, all signs point to his little league coach. The only problem is, the man has an airtight alibi. So, how could a man be in two places at once? This supernatural whodunnit is a clever, disturbing look into an investigation that demands faith in something too scary to accept.

Breaking Bad

AMC

When Netflix first announced Ozark, it sounded like an attempt to cash in on the popularity of AMC’s Breaking Bad with similar themes and tone. Ozark has more than proven its worth on its own, but it’s very much still of a kind with Breaking Bad. The latter show sees mild-mannered chemistry teacher Walter White turning to a life of crime, cooking high-quality meth, ostensibly to support his family following a cancer diagnosis. The choice sees him getting deeper and deeper into a dangerous criminal underworld, rising through the ranks while endangering the family he claims to want to protect.

The Mosquito Coast

Apple TV Plus

The Mosquito Coast feels perhaps most like the spiritual follow-up to Ozark. It similarly follows a family of outlaws, led by an especially reckless husband and father. The Fox family lives in hiding. It’s not entirely clear why, but when U.S. authorities catch up with them, they hed for Mexico and a vague promise of safety. The first season of this adaptation of Paul Theroux’s famous novel of the same name sees the Foxes on the run, with both law enforcement and crime bosses hot on their tails. Apple has greenlit a second season of the series that will hopefully answer some pretty big questions posed in season one.

Barry

Barry
HBO

If you want another gritty fish-out-of-water show like Ozark, HBO’s dark comedy Barry might be right up your alley. Depressed Midwestern hitman Barry Berkman travels to LA to kill a mark, but when he follows the man, an aspiring actor, into an improv class, he realizes this might be the community he’s been looking for. Barry tries to reinvent himself, starting a new life as an actor. Of course, his old life refuses to let him leave, and he soon finds himself pursued by the dangerous people from his past who aren’t quite done with him.

Narcos: Mexico

Netflix

A major part of Ozark concerns Mexican drug cartels and the not-so-rosy legacy of the American War on Drugs. Why not watch another Netflix original that delves into the history of the messy drug war, following the formation of trafficking rings in the 1980s, and the DEA’s attempts to stop the sale of drugs across borders. Narcos: Mexico is a continuation of Netflix’s earlier hit Narcos. It features solid performances by Diego Luna, Michael Peña, Scoot McNairy, and plenty more.

Sneaky Pete

Amazon

A man tries to start fresh to escape his criminal past and those who would harm him for it. That sounds an awful lot like the premise of Ozark, but it’s also a perfect description of Sneaky Pete, which lasted for three seasons on Amazon Prime Video. There are some pretty major differences between the two shows, but Sneaky Pete is a great choice for anyone looking for shows like Ozark. When con man Marius gets out of prison, he assumes the identity of his cellmate Pete to evade the gangster who wants him dead. Of course, that means assuming the identity even with Pete’s family, who have no way of knowing they’re not dealing with their estranged family member.

Weeds

Weeds - best shows on Peacock
Showtime

Weeds was one of the earlier entries in the “suburban families turning to a life of crime” subgenre that includes Ozark. In the 2000s Showtime comedy, Nancy Botwin finds herself in need of fast cash to support her family when her husband suddenly and tragically dies. With few options in front of her, she turns to selling and eventually growing cannabis. As her operation expands, she gets deeper into California’s criminal underworld and even gets entangled with Mexican drug cartels.

Those are our top picks of shows like Ozark to satisfy that familiar craving.
