Damien Wilde

Damien is a videographer and content creator with a penchant for all things Android. At Android Authority, he leads the YouTube channel, while contributing to reviews, features, and other editorial content.

With over 10 years of experience working in both sports and tech media, Damien has even dipped into regular news coverage having exclusively revealed Nothing’s acquisition of Essential alongside some of the most prominent coverage of the now-defunct Google Stadia platform. In tandem to sourcing independent news, he has run successful YouTube channels for 9to5Google and associated brands.

After graduating from the University of Hull in 2010 with a BSc in Computer Science, Damien joined the Press Association (now PA Media) to help develop and enhance sports data products for the Barclay’s Premier League. He went on to obtain a MA in Journalism from Sheffield Hallam University after completing his studies in 2014.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, Damien favors Panasonic camera gear. As of mid-2023, he relies heavily on the Panasonic Lumix S5 alongside the S5 II X. He pairs these with the Pixel 7 Pro, Nothing Ear (2), and, oddly, an Apple Watch Series 8. When not shooting or editing video, you can find him playing Apex Legends.
