Another cheap quad-core phone: ZTE U956 spotted in leaked pictures, coming to China Mobile soon

This particular Android smartphone packs a lot of today’s most popular mid-range features — such as a 5-inch 720p HD touchscreen display, an 8-megapixel camera with built-in LED flash, and a quad-core Mediatek MT6589 processor — yet it comes with a price tag that won’t instantly bust a huge gaping hole in your wallet.
The ZTE U956 is set to become available as a China Mobile exclusive, as evidenced by a couple of leaked pictures that first surfaced online through GizChina. And what’s more, it’s going to be priced at only 1,499 yuan or about $242 USD. Some people have likened the ZTE U956 to the upcoming Huawei G520, saying that it’s a slightly bigger version with a price tag that’s only a bit more expensive.
Certainly, similarly-equipped Android handsets don’t get much cheaper. So when or if ZTE finally decides to do a release outside of China, then there will be plenty of happy Android users going about with their ZTE U956’s in hand. Still, it will arrive in China first, so watch out for its official release there very soon.
