ZTE Optik 2 budget tablet arrives to Sprint for just $29.99, with contract

The ZTe Optik 2 has now arrived to Sprint’s network giving folks the chance to get a reasonably decent tablet for just $29.99. As to be expected, the catch is that you’ll need to sign up for a 2-year data agreement.
On the bright side, it appears that just about any tablet data plan will work with the tablet, with plans starting as low as $5 for just 25MB or as high as $79.99 for 12GB. Probably one of the better deals is the promotional $15 plan, which gives you 2GB of data.
Okay, so what kind of specs does the Optik 2 bring to the table? With a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 CPU and 1GB of RAM, the Optik 2 is not exactly a power house, but it’s still respectable enough. Other specs include a 7-inch 1920×1200 display, 8GB storage, 5MP rear cam, 2MP front cam, microSD, Bluetooth 4.0, Sprint 3G compatibility, and a 4000 mAh battery.
Unfortunately, the tablet only features Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, which is a bit frustrating to see from a new 2014 tablet, budget-oriented or not. Still, if you’re needs are modest and you don’t mind dealing with an older version of Android, you can pick up the Optik 2 from Sprint’s online website starting today.
