YouTube updated, brings a few changes to Playlists

YouTube has now received a new update, bringing several changes to Playlists and likely a few other minor bug fixes.
August 6, 2014

It seems Google has been pretty busy this Update Wednesday, rolling out several minor updates like Google Hangouts and Google Search, and has even brought us some widget changes for Google Music. It seems that Youtube is also joining the party as it jumps up to version 5.9 of its app.

Google has yet to officially list a changelog, though all the changes appear to be related to Playlists. Here’s an unofficial change-log highlighting what to expect, via GappsEarly:

  • Contextual menus in Playlists.
  • Add button in playlists where Like icon used to be.
  • View All button in sidebar under Playlists vs. Show More option

This is all the changes we know about for sure, but we wouldn’t be surprised if a few other goodies lay in wait. At the very least you can expect the usual bug fixes and performance tweaks. In typical Google fashion, it should take a few days before the latest version of Youtube rolls out. For those that don’t want to wait around for it to Google Play, you can grab the APK right now through GappsEarly.
