Sony Xperia Z3 photos and specs leak ahead of IFA
Earlier today we reported on a set of leaked images and some spec details for the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. Now it looks like the Sony Xperia Z3 has also leaked out ahead of its official IFA debut.
Not only do we get a handful of pictures purporting to be the device, there’s also a spec-sheet on the back of the device that unofficially verifies the handset’s specs. As expected, the device is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 801 CPU with 3GB RAM, with other specs including 16GB storage with microSD, a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a 20.7MP Exmor camera and a 3100 mAh battery.
As we already knew, that means the Z3 pretty much rocks the same specs as its predecessor, though it’s battery is actually slightly smaller (vs 3200 mAh).
So what’s actually new and improved here? First, it seems a great deal of focus is centered around the device’s slightly smaller bezels and its 7.5mm thin profile. Despite a smaller battery, the phone also reportedly has made STAMINA mode optimizations that will allow the battery to make it through two days of use. There’s also the presence of Digital Sound Enhancement engine for high-definition audio and rumors that the display on the Z3 will feature new technology that makes the experience brighter and with a better contrast ratio.
Another change for the Xperia Z3 revealed by today’s leak is the addition of a new Copper color, a first for Sony’s Xperia handsets. There’s likely a few more surprises awaiting us tomorrow at Sony’s IFA press event as well. What do you think of the Xperia Z3, looking for to the cosmetic and software changes or do you feel the upgrade isn’t significant enough this time around?
