Last April 1st 2011, the sexiest version of the Xperia series hit Europe and had a successful debut. This coming summer 2011, it seems like that we are going to see the very appealing Xperia Arc in the US.

In Sony Ericsson’s product blog about a game on the Xperia Play, someone threw a question if there is any news about the US version of the Xperia Arc. He asked, “Any news on the Xperia Arc American version? Does it have 512MB of RAM or 380MB of RAM?” Rikard Skogberg of Sony Ericsson’s first reply was, “Still working on getting the details on the “a” version of Xperia arc, especially timing I guess is your main question? Xperia arc does have 512 MB of RAM. The other numbers stated in different places is the approx. amount of internal free user storage out of the box. I’ve been in contact with some colleagues to make sure we specify better going forward.” Then, he added, “I just got something from my US colleagues and the current plan is to have an “a”-variant available at retailers this summer. This version will be optimized for use in the US (GSM/UMTS). I’ll keep you posted as I get more details.”

The Xperia Arc has a 4.2 inch display, the mobile BRAVIA engine which enhances the picture and runs at a resolution of 854×480 pixels, a 1 GHz Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor, an 8.1 mega-pixel camera, HDMI-out, 512 MB of RAM, and a 16 GB microSD card which is expandable up to 32 GB.

As of the moment, there are still no official claims whether the Xperia Arc will really hit US this coming summer. Let us just hope and cross our fingers that it is indeed true.
