Weekly Plan Spotlight: Half off Samsung Galaxy Note 8

For a limited time, anyone swapping to Sprint can get a Note 8 for 50% off. You don't even have to pay up front.
August 29, 2017

Come one come all to this week’s plan spotlight! Today’s offer is quite a doozy: half off the Note 8 lease price when you switch to Sprint.

Considering the Note 8 is arguably the most advanced smartphone to hit the mainstream market to-date (with a nasty price tag to match) we’re calling this one hell of a deal.

Gimme Them Deets

Customers switching to Sprint get 50% off the $960 Note 8 without paying anything up front. You’ll pay for this bad boy monthly to the tune of just $20 for 18-months. Even better, if you jump on this offer before September 24, you’ll get the Galaxy Foundation Kit on the house.

Wait, like makeup?

Uh, no. The Foundation Kit is a package that includes your choice of either:

  1. A 128GB EVO+ memory card and Fast Wireless Charging Converter ($189.98 Free) or…
  2. Samsung Gear 360 camera ($229.99 Free)

Okay, what’s the catch?

As all offers, this one comes with some fine print. However, it’s pretty par for the course with not “gotcha” bits:

This deal requires a new line of service activation and an 18-month lease. Well-qualified customers are eligible.

There are taxes on any device you go with and you’ll have to pay that up front regardless.

If you cancel your service, the remaining device balance will become due.

Do I have to choose a specific plan?

From everything we’re reading, you don’t have to pick a particular plan with Sprint to take advantage of this offer. However, they are promoting it with their Unlimited Freedom plan, which is $50 per month for unlimited data, but if you want to add extra lines, each one is only $22.50 after the first (up to 4 lines, and then the 5th one is actually free).

This might be worth looking into, because the Unlimited Freedom plan is currently going at a lower introductory price, after which they’re anticipating moving to a $60 per month price structure.
