VSCO Cam comes to Google Play, brings easy-to-use interface and tons of editing features

The highly popular iOS app 'VSCO Cam' has now arrived to Google Play! Best of all, the base app is free with extra filters and features available as in-app purchases.
December 3, 2013

Last month SmugMug brought its popular iOS camera app Camera Awesome over to Google Play, and now it looks like Android camera enthusiasts are getting yet another popular iOS camera app, this time it’s VSCO Cam.

After a long beta testing period, VSCO Cam is available for nearly all Android devices running Android 4.0 ICS or higher. Like Camera Awesome, there’s an easy to use interface and quite a few photo editing options and filters. The biggest difference here though is that VSCO Cam is free for the base version, with extra filters and editing tools available as in-app purchases.

As far as the feature set is concerned, VSCO Cam brings all the same great filters and editing tools as found on the iOS version. That said, not all Android devices support spot metering, so this may be disabled depending on your device’s hardware.

Aside from taking pics and editing, VSCO Cam also has a social component to it. Not only can you share images easily to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and any image that uses Andriod’s sharing service — you can also use VSCO Cam’s grid to store images in the cloud.

To grab the app or learn more, you’ll want to head on over to Google Play and pick it up now. For those that have already tried it out, what do you think so far? Worth the download or not?
