Verizon offers the HTC Rezound 4G for just $79.99 with two-year contract for limited time

June 20, 2012

Released back in November 2011 for a pretty steep $299 on contract, Verizon’s HTC Rezound hasn’t exactly proven to be the “hero” device HTC was looking for. Still, the LTE-enabled 4.3-incher has managed to sell pretty decently, especially after its price was cut to $199.

The Rezound may now become more appealing than ever, although some might have thought that its time has passed. Why is that? Well, because for a limited time only, you’ll be able to pick this big guy up for just $79.99.

That’s right, Verizon is offering a promotional discount of $120 for the Rezound 4G LTE and, while the deal doesn’t have a due date announced just yet, our friendly advice would be to take advantage of it as soon as possible. To get in on the special offer, you only have to sign up for a new two-year carrier agreement and, without any mail-in rebates, special conditions or stuff like that, you get to grab a pretty good-looking and snappy high-end phone for an upfront payment of just 80 bucks.

Powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon processor, the HTC Rezound can’t compare itself with the One X or the Samsung Galaxy S3 in terms of raw power. However, it should still provide you with enough oomph to play any game you might want, surf the web at ease and run multimedia content at the best possible quality.

The Rezound sports a beautiful 4.3-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and features 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, an 8 MP rear-facing shooter, a 1,620 mAh battery and a microSD card slot.

In terms of software, Verizon and HTC’s Rezound might bug the heck out of you, as it still runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but an official Android 4.0 ICS update is scheduled and will be coming soon. All in all, this is clearly a good deal for anyone looking for a strong, budget-conscious and snappy phone with LTE connectivity, so you should have at it before it expires.

Before wrapping up the post, we should also tell you that the Rezound’s price cut might not only be proof of Verizon’s “kindness”, but also the indication that the much-awaited Droid Incredible 4G LTE will be finally coming our way. I know, that’s exactly what we told you back in April, the last time the Rezound had its price slashed, but now we’re positive Big Red is trying to make room in its shelves for the new HTC flagship device.

Have you or are you planning to take advantage of Verizon’s new deal? Why? Why not?
