The Ventev Powerdash r900 is a battery car charger demoed at CES 2014 that also works as a portable battery.
Spotted at the Las Vegas-based show by The New York Times, the device has been available in stores for a while now. The Powerdash r900’s battery will hold a 900mAh charge which, while not enough for a full recharge, will be good enough to get you out of a tough situation on those days when the battery of your Android device will be ready to give up on you.
As you can see in the image above, this cylindrical device has an USB port at one end, which will be compatible with your current charging cables. That means you’ll be able to charge your smartphone and/or tablet on-the-go, but also in the car.
The Ventev Powerdash r900 measures 3.4 x 0.8 x 0.8 inches, weighs 2.1 ounces and will offer a fast 2.1A charge when plugged in your car, or a slower 1A charge when using its battery.
Originally priced at $39.99, the device can be purchased for $29.55 from Amazon right away (check out the Source link below). For what it’s worth, the company also has a Ventev R2240 Vehicle Power Adapter car charger in stores, which is able to charge two devices at the same time at 2.4A on each USB port, although this one doesn’t offer a built-in battery, therefore it can only be used in your car.
Are you using additional battery packs with your mobile devices? Which ones?
