Unbranded Galaxy S3 in the UK joins the Jelly Bean party
Compared to other regions, Samsung Galaxy S3 owners in the UK are enjoying a relatively swift and pain-free software upgrade to Jelly Bean. Starting with Three, the Android 4.1 update then made its way to O2 and Vodafone subscribers. If you own an unbranded version of the handset, the time to make that jump to the latest and greatest Android OS is here.
The Jelly Bean update has reportedly hit those with an unlocked Galaxy S3 in the country. If you can’t wait for the over-the-air update to arrive, you can manually download the file (781MB in size) and install it on your phone using Kies.
As listed on a thread at XDA-developers, here’s a little bit more detail about the firmware:
- Base Firmware: I9300XXDLJ4
- Modem: I9300XXDLID
- CSC: I9300OXADLJ4
- Build Date: 19-10-2012
The update offers all the buttery smooth goodness that you expect from Jelly Bean. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to bring that multi-window support to your Galaxy S3. You can find the link to download the Android 4.1.1 firmware by clicking on the source below.
