thescore winter olympics 2014 android apps
The Winter Olympics 2014 are fast approaching and a number of Android apps are getting prepared. Included is the theScore, an app that has consistently made our top lists for sports apps. With mere days to go until the Olympics are set to kick off, theScore released a sizable update.

The update includes a few Olympics-specific items such as sections specifically for men’s and women’s events, a medal counter, and a blog section for coverage of the events. One of the more unique features are Medal Alerts which will alert you when a medal is won, who won it, and in what event. They also boast reporting the news in what they call stack-able bits which gets you the important news quickly and more updates as they happen. So for those of us who don’t have time to sit and read 1500 word articles, that’s also a nifty feature.

There were a few updates that weren’t related directly to the Winter Olympics. This includes player updates for a myriad of sports so if you have a favorite player you can keep track of when they score, get injured, or otherwise make the news. This is particularly handy for fantasy sports players. Also included are the usual bug fixes and performance enhancements.

If this looks like something you’d be interested in, check the source link for the download or simply click here. It’s definitely going to be an interesting Winter Olympics considering all the controversy that’s already happened.
