When it comes to Rovio, Angry Birds and its many spin-offs probably comes to mind. Now the studio has officially revealed its first gameplay trailer for something quite a bit different, the Croods.

The Croods is actually a tie-in game for the upcoming DreamWorks movie of the same name, and is a virtual world game, as opposed to their usual fast-paced physics-based offerings. In short, the game is about surviving the wild and your in-laws, as well as catching creatures and growing the world around you.

The first gameplay trailer isn’t very long, but it is more than enough to give you an idea of what the game is all about.

So when is the Croods coming? Rovio has the game slated for release to Android and iOS on March 14th, though no word on pricing. More than likely this game will either be very cheap ($.99 maybe) or perhaps even free. For those wondering, the actual movie is expected to hit theaters on March 22nd.

What do you think, is this one worth checking out considering the studio behind it, or not?
