In the few short weeks since developer Klinker Apps debuted Talon, their take on a Twitter client, they have injected a ton of new features. Today a good thing is getting even better with version 1.3.0.
In such a short time Talon has become quite popular, with installs in the 10,000-50,000 range and a 4.4 user rating on over 2,000 reviews. At first glance, I would say that if you like options, this app is for you. The app was conceived and designed to overcome the seeming lack of useful functionality in the official Twitter app.
The Play Store description for the Talon app reads something like this: “The list of features is enormous as well, doing everything you could ever want from a Twitter app right off the bat. Even though it is new, I have added every single major and minor Twitter feature that I think is absolutely essential, plus a ton that most people wouldn’t even think of.”
The description goes on to list a great number of features, including live streaming support, ability to edit your Twitter profile, various themes and layouts, refresh and notification options, YouTube player, emoji support, widget, extensions to other apps and widgets and many more.
Version 1.3.0 brings yet another long list of additional features, with a few key items such as TwitPic support, improved Instagram and Imgur image support, URL shortening via TwitLonger and a great number of improvements to the actual mechanics of communicating on Twitter.
