Swiftkey Cloud allows you to sync your Swiftkey stats across devices (Video)
The world’s most popular third party keyboard is at it yet again. The last time we talked about Swiftkey was when it adorned our best keyboards for Android list. There it remains as it really is one of the best, if not the best, third party keyboard for Android. Now, it’s going to get even better with Swiftkey Cloud.
Swiftkey Cloud is a new feature in Swiftkey that allows users to sync their Swiftkey stats to the cloud. It can then be downloaded onto any of your devices. With this, your learned words, style, and other stats get saved so you don’t have to start over every time you re-install the app. This is especially great for people who are about to upgrade their device, lose their device and need it replaced, have multiple devices, or even people who habitually flash custom ROMs.
It is also capable of learning new phrases and words by using Twitter trends. It can already learn from your SMS, Twitter feed, Gmail, Facebook, and blog, but it adds to that another social network element where it can learn words that other people are using. This can be pretty nifty if you are always talking about the current topics.
With the current NSA thing going on, there are a lot of people who may not appreciate a feature like this and we understand. Apparently, so does Swiftkey because it’s really easy to remove the Swiftkey Cloud if you don’t want your typing info being saved. Simply go into the Swiftkey options, navigate to the Swiftkey Cloud settings and delete it. No big deal.
