Summoner Wars, a tabletop card game turned into iOS hit, comes to Android

The tabletop game Summoner Wars first came to the mobile world in 2012 as a strategy game, and now it's making its way to Android as well!

Summoner Wars started out its life as a tabletop card game, only to come to iOS in 2012, where it quickly became quite popular. Now years later, the game is making its way over to Android as well.

For those unfamiliar, Summoner Wars has you take control of forces on a battlefield, while you play the role of a mage in the background that must cast spells and help with the defenses. Better yet, the game supports cross-platform online play, so you can duke it out against your iOS-wielding buddies.

Summon Wars is free, but as you’d expect, the catch is that there are in-app purchases. For free, the game includes the Phoenix Eve faction, but unlocking other playable factions require you to pay $2 a piece, of $8 for the “Faction Pack”. The Faction Pack includes all 9 current addable factions, their reinforcements and Mercenary Pack 1. It’s also worth noting that there are another 6 factions in the tabletop version of the game, which the game’s creator says may eventually come to the Android (and iOS) version of the game.

If you’re at all into fantasy strategy games, it’s at worth checking out the game, especially since it’s free to try. This goes doubly if you happen to be a fan of the Summoner Wars tabletop game. To check out the game for yourself, you’ll want to head on over to Google Play.
