It’s easy to forget that smartphones are actually phones that can make or receive calls (imagine that?!). But all it takes is a ringtone to make us realize that we’ve got a device capable of more than just taking photos and browsing the web.

Then again, how many Android Authority readers have their phone set to ring for incoming calls in the first place? We’d like to know what sound profile you primarily use on your phone. Vote in the poll below and leave a comment if you’d like to elaborate.

What sound profile do you primarily use on your phone?

My phone is set to silent the vast majority of the time, but I do change to vibrate when I’m expecting a phone call in the first place. For example, I’ll switch to vibrate when I’m expecting a courier delivery or a call from a loved one.

Most phone companies allow you to change sound profiles via the notification shade and/or settings menu. But the likes of Apple and OnePlus also make it easy to toggle a Do Not Disturb mode thanks to alert sliders on the side of their phones.

This wouldn’t be the first ringtone-related poll we conducted either, as a 2019 poll found that the majority of Android Authority readers use custom ringtones. So clearly there seems to be an appetite for sound profile customization of some kind. Nevertheless, you can make your voice heard in our latest poll above.
