Just last week Apple released the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus and, to no one’s surprise, they managed to sale rather briskly and garner a lot of media attention. Whenever big profile handsets arrive, it’s only a matter of time before they end up cloned, whether its the HTC One M8, the Galaxy S5, or even the iPhone. With this in mind, the Sophone i6 has arrived, packing the same overall look as the 4.7-inch iPhone 6, albeit with less premium materials and insides that don’t exactly match what you’d find from Apple.
Spec wise, you’ll get a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek CPU with 2GB RAM, a 13MP rear Sony cam, 4.9MP front cam, a fingerprint scanner, a 4.7-inch 960 x 540 display, an 1810 mAh battery, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0 and aGPS. For obvious reasons, the phone doesn’t run iOS but instead packs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with an ‘Apple-inspired’ skin on top.
Apart from a low resolution display and the fact it’s running Jelly Bean, the specs aren’t really that bad, especially since its only priced at $140. It’s also worth mentioning this isn’t the only iClone 6 out there, as GooPhone also released its GooPhone i6 earlier this summer way ahead of the iPhone 6’s launch and there’s likely plenty of others hitting the streets of China as we speak. Of course the SoPhone actually looks much closer to the real deal than the GooPhone.
