On Friday we looked at the first purported images of the Sony Xperia Z3, which showed off a device that largely follows the design language of its predecessor with a few minor design tweaks mixed in. Once the first images leak it’s only a matter of time before we learn or see more, and today comes a new set of images that give us a look at the device from even more angles.
Interestingly enough, the latest images also show the Z3 beside the original Samsung Galaxy Note, an odd choice for comparison considering the Note’s age. Probably one of the biggest design differences between the Z3 prototype and older Xperia devices is the more rounded look, which could mean it will also provide better grip-ability. The other major change would be the fact that the front-facing speakers in the Z3 appear to stand out more than the nearly-invisible speakers in the Z2. Why the change? Considering the Z2’s sound isn’t exactly stellar, it’s very possible that the new speakers will provide louder, higher-quality sound.
Anything else we can learn from the newly leaked images? Not really, though previous rumors tell us the device will offer a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 CPU, an Adreno 330 GPU, a 20.7MP Exmor RS lens and Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Considering devices like the LG G3 Prime and GS5 LTE-A offer a Snapdragon 805, sticking with the 801 seems like a bit of a disappointment, but maybe the final hardware will end up stepping things up a notch.
What do you think of the Sony Xperia Z3’s looks based on the most recent crop of leaked images? Excited for what Sony has in store, or indifferent?
