Sony Xperia E3 hands-on
Smaller smartphones with good specs are rare, which is what makes phones like the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact very attractive. This is not to say there is no market for the small, mid-end smartphones, which is why Sony has also announced the Sony Xperia E3 at IFA.

We are all over Berlin chasing phones like nut jobs, and we definitely had to stop by Sony to take a look at the new baby in the family.
Sony Xperia E3 specs
- Android 4.4
- 4.5-inch display (480×854)
- 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor
- 1 GB of RAM
- 4 GB of internal storage
- 5MP/0.3MP cameras
- 2330 mAh battery
This little device is not half bad. The design and build quality are very similar to the Xperia Z3, save for the size difference and the usual slight change in material quality. All other aspects are pretty standard for mid-end smartphones, but there is one department where this phone fails – screen definition. This little guy has a very low pixel density. Anything under 720p is simply no longer acceptable, and you can really tell the difference in quality.
The device should come with a very friendly price tag. We have no details on price or release date just yet, but we can assume it might be launching close to the other new Xperia smartphones (Autumn). Are you buying?
