NBC releases its updated Olympics Highlights app, just in time for Sochi 2014

The 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter games officially starts on the 7th of February, just days away now. If you’re looking for ways to stay connected to the event outside of your television, there are already plenty of apps that can help you out. Adding to the list, NBC has now released its 2014 version of the NBC Olympics Highlights app.

The latest app brings users video highlights, images from the games and a second screen option for NBC’s nightly recap program on TV. The app also includes a way to keep track of live scores and medal counts, but unfortunately live video coverage isn’t offered. NBC’s Olympics app doesn’t exactly stand out from the pack of existing options, but the layout is actually fairly decent and it’s certainly on par with alternatives when it comes to the amount of features and coverage.

If you can live without live coverage, don’t mind some in-app advertisements and are in the U.S., you can grab the app for free from Google Play. For those outside of the states, Samsung’s SOCHI WOW 2014 is probably a better choice.
