Skype starts selling prepaid cards in UK for as low as £10
At long last, Skype has started selling prepaid cards in the UK with the help of an enourmous network of UK retailers. Its newly launched series of prepaid cards can be used to top-up Skype user accounts for as low as £10. This is the perfect solution for those who want to buy Skype credits but don’t have any credit cards to their name.
For those who might be wondering, yes, Skype is still free on all platforms. You can use it to make phone calls and send messages to other Skype users no matter what type of computer they are using. Skype credits are for those who need to get in touch with users on landlines and actual mobile phones. The new prepaid cards can be redeemed against Skype paid features on skype.com.
As of now, Skype prepaid cards can be purchased from any one of a total of 1,400 stores out in the UK, with even more locations set to start offering them soon. The Skype prepaid cards, which can be used as gifts to friends and family, are available in not just £10 but also £20 denominations. Five major UK retailers have signed up to carry these cards in the gift card sections of their stores. These retailers are Asda, Currys, PC World, Sainsburys’ and WHSmith.
Now might be a great time to check out the rates for calls made through Skype to other countries. To find out more about the availability of Skype prepaid cards, read the full press release posted below.
