Remember the Skully AR-1 smart motorcycle helmet that we had a look at a couple of days ago? The project had already nearly tripled its original Indiegogo funding goal of $250,000 with 30 days left in the campaign, and it has now become the fastest fully-funded campaign on Indiegogo to reach the $1 million mark.
The smart helmet project managed to raise $1 million in around 45 hours, with an average contribution of $1,425 from backers. The current funding total stands at $1,141,546, at the time of writing, and there are still 26 days left on the clock.
For a quick recap, the Skully smart helmet gives the wearer a heads-up display on the face shield, which can be used to show the wearer useful notifications, provide GPS data, it can also hook up to online music services, and can even show you what’s going on behind you via an integrated rear-facing camera.
Early backers have the option to pre-purchase the Skully AR-1 for $1400, whilst the final product is estimated to cost $1500 when it goes into retail. Shipping is expected sometime in May 2015.
