Needless to say, Samsung really wants to make sure that the upcoming Galaxy S3 will get as much publicity and hype as possible in the UK in the coming weeks. Word on the street has it that Samsung UK will be handing out free tickets to the Olympics to the lucky first 50 buyers of the much-awaited superphone.

But before you jump for joy and start planning your strategy to get in line to get the very first Galaxy S3, here are few things you need to know about this gig.

First things first, the 50 tickets will be handed to those who will line up in front of Samsung’s flagship store at Westfield Stratford City in London, on May 29, 2012. Samsung’s flagship location will be opening up its doors by 5PM, with sales expected to start at 6PM. You also need to make sure that you have already pre-ordered the device and you have been sent the invite to pick up your unit from the Samsung store. If you received the email, it means that you have a chance at the free tickets to the Olympics.

Samsung is a worldwide Olympic partner and the supplier of the official phone of the summer Olympics in London, so expect to see more Olympic-themed promotional campaigns from the Koreans in the coming weeks. Just last week, we’ve told you about the upcoming special Olympic edition Samsung Galaxy Note and Samsung Galaxy Y. More tie-ins are likely to follow.

If you haven’t done so yet, you can still place your pre-order for the Samsung Galaxy S3. Good luck with those tickets!
