A picture is worth a thousand words, so just imagine how many words can be pictured with a proper photograph. Samsung is up to the task with its Lens Cover accessory for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, an add-on accessory that has ascertained your lack of acquiescence for anemic photography. The product – which fits much like a case does – provides enhanced levels of zoom for digital photography taken with the flagship smartphones.

While the Lens Cover was announced back in February along with the phone, pricing and release details were missing. Today, however, the product has appeared for purchase on a number of Samsung’s European websites, as noted by SamMobile, including Samsung Netherlands, Samsung Germany, and Samsung Spain. While the accessory is listed on the UK website, it has not yet been made available to buy.

The asking price for the Lens Cover – both the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge variant – is 149.99 Euros, or roughly $172. It should be noted that European phones and products typically cost more than in the USA due to issues such as taxes included in prices. It is currently unknown how much this product will retail for in the USA, assuming it does in fact release there.

This is not the first time a smartphone OEM has released a product of this nature. Sony, for example, made an add-on for its Xperia Z-phones that accomplished a similar use as this one from Samsung. It too, was priced rather high, however for those with a knack for photography, there is arguably nothing beats added performance boosts.

Sony had a similar product accessory with its Xperia Z1 handset.
