TL;DR
  • The user manual for the wireless charger to be sold along with the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus leaked today.
  • Images and instructions in the manual give a good idea of how the unit will work, but no new info on the Galaxy S9 is given.
  • An image of a charger prototype was obtained by WinFuture.

The device manual for the upcoming wireless charger specifically designed to go with the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus leaked earlier today. The manual itself is very simple and doesn’t give us much info on the Galaxy S9 itself, but the way the charger works is explained in detail.

The charger is a dock that looks remarkably like the Samsung DeX, which turns your Samsung Galaxy S8 into a desktop computer replacement. A USB Type-C cable powers the dock, and when the phone is placed on the stand an indicator light on the front gives its charging status.

You can lay the phone on the charger vertically or horizontally. However, you will have to approximately center the phone on the stand so that it properly connects with the two charging pads built into the dock.

Really, there doesn’t appear to be much difference between this charging stand and the Galaxy S8’s charging stand, though the newer model is a bit thinner and flatter than the old one.

WinFuture obtained a prototype image of the wireless dock, which you can see above. You can view the manual in full here.
