Leaked information about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 line of smartphones just hit the internet, via Gizmodo. While the information centers around the release of the devices in the United Kingdom, it’s simple enough to extrapolate the details as they would pertain to us here in the United States.

Before we divulge the leaked information, it’s important to note that these details are from an anonymous source. These are not official and should be viewed with some scrutiny.

With that out of the way, let’s get right down to it! According to the Gizmodo leaker, the Samsung Galaxy S10 will allegedly launch before Mobile World Congress 2019. Usually, Samsung launches its S-series devices at MWC itself, but this leaker claims the company could hold its own event on February 20, 2019, five days before MWC begins.

After the launch, the devices will allegedly go on sale March 8, 2019.

As we’ve already suspected, the leaker claims there will be three variants of the Samsung Galaxy S10. Here’s how those three variants break down as far as storage capacities and prices, according to the leak:

  • Samsung Galaxy S10
    • 6.1-inch display, curved
    • 128GB or 512GB of internal storage
    • 799 pounds and 999 pounds respectively (~$1,009 and ~$1,262)
  • Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus
    • 6.4-inch display, curved
    • 128GB, 512GB, or 1TB of internal storage
    • 899 pounds, 1,099 pounds, 1,399 pounds respectively (~$1,136, $1,388 and ~$1,767)
  • Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite
    • 5.8-inch display, flat
    • 128GB of internal storage
    • 669 pounds (~$845)

It is possible these prices will not be converted to USD, but rather transfer over. In other words, the entry-level Galaxy S10 could cost $799, the entry-level Galaxy S10 Plus could cost $899, and so on.

Regardless, it appears Samsung is trying its hand at Apple’s strategy for this year’s iPhone models: increase the overall pricing of the products while introducing a lower-cost entry-level model to give consumers a broader set of choices. However, that strategy doesn’t appear to be working for Apple, so it will be interesting to see how it works for Samsung.

The other information from the leaker — the alleged Infinity-O display, the camera sensors, ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, etc. — have already been well-covered in our Samsung Galaxy S10 rumor roundup below. In the meantime, what do you think of these alleged pricing and storage options? Is Samsung moving in the right direction, or are these prices too rich for your blood? Let us know in the comments!
