Samsung Activity Tracker (S Band) appears in Germany, priced at €80

At the end of last week we saw some leaked details regarding Samsung’s revised S-Band, and now we can have a look at the fitness tracker in the flesh, as the device has appeared at an event in Germany. The kind fellows over at Stereopoly have managed to get some hands-on time with the device and have uploaded some images, alongside a short hands-on video.
First up, the device is no longer known as the S Band, instead Samsung has chosen to simply call it the Activity Tracker. We also now know that the little fitness device is to be priced at €79.90.
The Activity Tracker pairs to a Samsung smartphone via Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and talks to the same app which is used for the new Gear Fit. Steropoly has also been able to confirm many of the features which were leaked last week, including the interchangeable straps, LED notifications, distance travelled and calorie consumption statistics, and sleep tracking, which times when you move between different stages of sleep.
The device also features a microUSB port for charging and should last for up to five days. Although it seems that you have to remove the strap to charge it, as the strap is too thick. To avoid this inconvenience, the strap can be replaced with a clip to attach the device to other items of clothing.
The video below is all in German, but it does provide a nice close-up look at the Activity Tracker.

The Activity Tracker is already available for pre-order on Amazon in Germany, and should therefore be making its way over to other markets shortly. What do you make of Samsung’s new Activity Tracker?
