It appears as if we have a bit of good news and a bit of not so good news this morning. Both bits are dealing with Android devices coming to Rogers. And since the good seems better, lets begin with that. Rogers has priced the LG Optimus G and also made the device available for pre-order. The handset will set you back $129.99 on a three-year agreement or $599.99 for those looking to go contract-free.
The LG Optimus G, just as a recap, will bring features to include Android 4.0 ICS, LTE connectivity, a 4.67-inch (1280 x 768) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, quad-core 1.5GHz Spapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera.
The LG Optimus G is officially noted as shipping in “mid-November” however those placing a pre-order will also be entered into a contest to win a 47-inch LG Cinema 3D Smart TV and that may have given a hint to the release. The contest ends on November 12th.
Otherwise, with the good out of the way, lets get into the not so good. Or in this case, the confusing. Rogers is expected to launch the Galaxy Note II at $249.99. The price was revealed by Best Buy who began accepting pre-orders last week. The reason for the confusion, the Galaxy Note II is expected to arrive with several Canadian carriers of which Telus and Bell have already confirmed the price at $149.99. Seems strange that Rogers would try and sell the same device at a $100 premium. Needless to say, we are hoping that was a typo on the part of Best Buy.
