TL;DR
  • A purported render of the POCO M3 has leaked just days ahead of the phone’s launch.
  • Its design is reminiscent of the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk special edition phone launched earlier this month.
  • The POCO M3 will be officially unveiled on November 24.

The POCO M3‘s official launch is just days away, but only now have the first leaked images of the phone appeared. And according to the render obtained by 91Mobiles, the phone’s rear design will be its most striking feature.

Per the render, the POCO M3 will sport a notch and a noticeable chin. The right-hand flank houses a volume rocker and power button, which, judging by its sunken shape, could double up as a capacitive fingerprint sensor. This would be a design change over the POCO M2‘s well-disguised rear fingerprint sensor.

Speaking of the rear, the POCO M3 in the render looks nothing like its predecessor. The top quarter of the phone features a large black rectangular slab housing a triple rear camera array, LED flash, and prominent POCO branding. If this looks a little familiar, it’s probably because the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk special edition adopted a similar design. Unlike that device, the POCO M3 will seemingly arrive in three bright color options – blue, yellow, and black.

POCO has a pretty attractive device on its hands if the renders are indeed official.

We can’t see the foot of the POCO M3, so it’s unclear if the headphone jack will make a welcome return. Previous leaks suggest the M3 may be a rebrand of an upcoming Redmi Note device, which wouldn’t be a stretch for the brand. Reskins have become POCO’s bread and butter.

As for specifications, a phone believed to be the POCO M3 was spotted on Geekbench earlier this month. That device seemingly sported a Snapdragon 662 chipset with 4GB of RAM. As benchmarks can be easily manipulated, we can’t say for sure that this is the hardware cocktail POCO will employ.

In any case, we’ll find out more on November 24 at 7AM ET when the POCO M3 makes its official debut in China.
