Google isn’t the only one making news around their newly released Nexus Player. One of the top personal media software packages out there, Plex, is along for the ride.

When users eventually fire up their brand new Nexus Players, whenever that may be, they will notice that Plex has taken a prominent place in the default app lineup, alongside the likes of Google Play Movies & TV, YouTube, Netflix and more.

This is not all, Plex is on a tear lately, having relatively recently added support for the Google Chromecast, landing themselves on Xbox last week and just now also announcing that the Plex app will be found on Sony’s VIZIO TV offerings.

For those new to Plex, they offer an extensive software solution to turn all of your personal media into a home theater streaming system. Not only that, but their Android app and paid Plex Pass subscription service will let you access that media on the road.

The Plex programs and apps can be found on their website, or grab the Android app through the Google Play Store, and look out for it on your new Nexus Player, if you’re headed down that road.

What do you say, is Plex your media app of choice, or are you more of a XBMC fan?
