There was only ever going to be one focus of Plan Picks this week. Both Verizon and Sprint have offers on the Samsung Galaxy S20 range of phones, which we’ve summarized below.
What are the Verizon deals?
If you just want one Galaxy S20 Plus and sign up for monthly payments, you’ll get $150 back in bill credits across the course of your payments. That means your effective payment for the device will be $1,050 rather than the $1,200 retail price.
If you have an eligible device to trade in when you upgrade, you can get another $300 in promo credit, knocking your payment down to $750. The eligible devices you can trade in go as far back as the Galaxy S9 or the Pixel 3. This trade-in credit also applies to the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
Hey Verizon, me and my friend both want one!
With either phone, you can effectively get a second S20 Plus free! You have to add both to your cart and add one of them as a new smartphone line on any Unlimited plan. You’ll get $1,200 of bill credits applied to your account across the 24 months of payments for both phones.
If you and your buddy both want the S20 Ultra, you’ll still get $1,050 in bill credits, subject to the same terms and payment scheme.
All the Verizon deals also come with other perks. They include up to $200 Samsung rebate, and various free subscriptions. There are also terms and conditions to consider, so head to the deals via the links below to check them out.
Can Sprint do any better?
There are some good deals on Sprint for the S20 range, which are based on two factors: You pick up any of the S20 phones on a Flex Lease plan, and you have an eligible device to trade-in. If you’re happy with those terms, you can get yourself a Galaxy S20 for free!
Here are the Flex Lease payments you’ll make by device:
- Galaxy S20 — $0 per month (usually $41.67)
- Galaxy S20 Plus — $8.33 per month (usually $49.99)
- Galaxy S20 Ultra — $16.67 per month (usually $58.34)
It’s not easy to summarize which devices are eligible for trade-in because it depends on carrier and brand. For reference, they tend to go as far back as the Samsung Galaxy S8 or the iPhone 6s. Head over to your Sprint deal of choice and click through the purchase process to see whether your device fits the bill.
But my old phone is all dinged up
That’s the real kicker in these Sprint deals — your trade-in device can be in any condition
It would be easy to assume Sprint wanted your old device to have been kept in a plastic bubble all its life, but these deals mean you can just dig out the dusty old Pixel 3 from your drawer and still qualify for the savings.
There are other perks too, including the Galaxy Forever program that lets you upgrade to the latest Galaxy device after just 12 device payments instead of the standard 18 months you sign up for on a Flex Lease.
Of course, you’ll also want to check out the small print for yourself, so use the widgets below to check out the deals in full. Alternatively, you can keep things simple and order any of the S20 range on Amazon.
