If you’re a current Netflix subscriber, you’ll soon have another way to pay for your monthly subscription. According to the latest Netflix for Android update in the Play Store, the video streaming service will soon allow you to pay for your subscription via Google Play Billing.

This feature is listed as “coming soon” in the changelog. When Google decides it’s ready for primetime, you’ll be able to pay for Netflix through the Google Play Store rather than setting up a direct monthly payment to Netflix. Why would one want to do this, you ask? Perhaps users would like to cut down on the amount of services that are accessing their bank accounts every month. For new users especially, it will be easy to set up a monthly payment with the Play Store as an in-app purchase since Google already has your card information on file.

  • Coming soon: Subscribe for Netflix via Google Play Billing (new permission required).

Like I mentioned before, this feature isn’t live yet. You’ll need to grab the update from the Play Store and wait for Google to flip the switch.
