That’s right, we’re expecting an OTA update of the G1 to start going out tomorrow – 24 hours after the device went on sale in stores. Supposedly the update will be fairly minor in order to make sure the system works and such. At least that is what Will, the admin T-Mobile’s Forums, says is the case.

It seems that this update will fix a bug with the Amazon MP3 store as well as add a few unspecified “enhancements.”

I seriously doubt any of those enhancements are going to be major, but they are welcome none the less. You can a better feel for how the update will work by reading the post on the T-Mobile Forums.

The new version is RC28, as indicated in the About page of the Settings (in the “Build number” part). Our G1 is running RC19. G1 users can expect to get a text message about the update in the next day or two.

If you receive yours, please let us know in the comments for this thread. Thanks!
