The OnePlus logo.
TL;DR
  • A roofing company in Toronto has a logo very similar to the distinct OnePlus logo.
  • The company — calling itself OnePlus Roofing — claims to have no knowledge of OnePlus smartphones.
  • For now, it appears there are two OnePlus companies in the world.

Owning your own business is tough, as there are a lot of hard decisions which must be made and a lot of work that must be done to keep the lights on. With that in mind, it’s inevitable that some business owners will look for shortcuts to take some pressure off their shoulders.

OnePlus Roofing is based in Markham, a suburb of Toronto, according to its listing on Homestars.com (not to be confused with HomestarRunner.com). According to the most recent review of OnePlus Roofing on Homestars — which went live two months ago — the company worked very quickly to fix a leak in the customer’s bedroom, which earned it a ten-out-of-ten rating.

However, it doesn’t appear that OnePlus Roofing is going to earn a ten-out-of-ten rating on the creation of its logo, at least not according to a trademark attorney:

Android Authority contacted OnePlus Roofing to get a statement on the matter. The owner of the business claimed that his company name and logo are registered in Canada and that he created the name and logo himself. When we explained what OnePlus (the smartphone company) was, he claimed to have no knowledge of its existence.

We asked for a statement for this article, but the owner declined.

For now, it appears we have two OnePlus companies in the world. TwoPlus?
