On its forums earlier today, OnePlus announced OxygenOS 9.0.7 for the OnePlus 5 and 5T.

In addition to the June 2019 security patch level, the OnePlus 5 and 5T update introduces Fnatic mode to the two older flagships. Named after the esports gaming company of the same name, Fnatic mode blocks out all notifications (except alarms), stops all inessential background processes, and tweaks the CPU and GPU settings to put all the focus on your game.

The update also introduces a screen recorder, already available on newer OnePlus phones. In addition to what’s on the screen, the new feature can also record internal system audio.

You can check out the changelog below.

  • System
    • Updated Android security patch to 2019.6
    • Added screen recorder feature (Quick Settings – Edit – Screen Recorder)
    • Added quick reply in landscape (Settings – Utilities – Quick reply in landscape)

    • Added Fnatic mode (Settings – Utilities – Gaming mode)
  • Phone

Don’t expect this to be the last update for the OnePlus 5 and 5T. OnePlus previously promised Android Q for the two phones, along with DC dimming and RAM Boost. Until then, it’s good to see OnePlus continue to update the aging OnePlus 5 and 5T.

As with other OxygenOS updates, OxygenOS 9.0.7 is rolling out as an incremental OTA. That means a small number of devices owners will get first dibs before a broader rollout begins in a few days. If you can’t wait, you can grab the Oxygen Updater app and sideload the update.
