Sony’s flagship 2013 Android handset, the Xperia Z, was announced yesterday at CES 2013see our hands-on video here – and it will be launched in Q1 2013 in various markets.

Some carriers will be getting it earlier than others with UK mobile operator O2 already listing the device for a February launch, although a release date is not mentioned yet. Comparatively, Phones4U will have the handset in store in the region for March 1, although the retailer doesn’t offer any pricing details just yet.

In addition to launching it sooner, O2 will have the device in an exclusive color option, purple, in case colors matter to you when buying mobile devices.

But just like Phones4U, O2 isn’t offering any pricing details for its Xperia Z at this time, and the handset can’t be pre-ordered yet, so don’t get too excited about the launch just yet.

We’ll be back with more Xperia Z availability details in the coming days, as more mobile operators around the world will surely want this Android handset to be part of their 2013 lineup.
